update!
Wow. Must be time for my yearly update. Pity I can't think of anything significant to write (though I can think of a lot of significant things to read, however. Most of that is fanfiction. Dammit, Jim, I'm a librarian, not an author!)

I love my course :)
There are days when I can't stand studying or the thought of going to university, or the thought of being a librarian, for that matter...
But then there are days when the library resources that we get to play round with point us in the direction of really really interesting things, like Global Potato News(http://www.potatonews.com). Now how cool is that. Then I get this lovely wash of enthusiasm.

A prayer for the stressed
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill today because they pissed me off.
And also, help me to be careful of the toes I step on today as they may be connected to the ass that I may have to kiss tomorrow.
Help me to always give 100% at work.... 12% on Monday 23% on Tuesday 40% on Wednesday 20% on Thursday 5% on Friday
And help me to remember.... When I'm having a really bad day, and it seems that people are trying to piss me off, that it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 4 to extend my middle finger and tell them to bite me!
Amen.

So.
My job involves development of a health-science first year paper. On saturday we had a terms test (which I had to help orgainize). Half an hour. _17_ lecture theatres. _2000_ students.
Ouch.
I'm glad that we had only two minor stuff-ups.

Wow. Two weeks without the internet feels really weird, I think I've forgotten how to type.
What has everyone else been up to?

Casino Royale
Oh man, what a movie. Not 100% wow on the acting side (why are bond villans always the same?), but with plot twists I didn't spot and with some very pretty people in it. (Daniel Craig, I'm looking at you!)
I'f you haven't been to see it, go see it!
(If you're in town come see it with me this week!)

Darnit
So I go to work this evening in the hopes of getting a few more hours of overtime over and done with... and my computer isn't working, I can't remember my actual webemail password (cos I use work email), and I may not be able to get onto the network so I can do stuff with the stuff I have on my machine.
Oh yeah, I have a deadline on monday morning.
Crap.
Work should switch from macs to PCs - they seem sooo less tempremental.

One of my friends left town today for a warmer climate. I've known her since the sixth form.
Good luck out in the real world, Nimi! We salute you!

Aaaarrrrr!
Ahoy!
It do be international talk-like-a-pirate-day, me'hearties! Bottles of rum all round!
I dare some brave soul to answer their phone with an "aaaarrr?" instead of the usual "hello?"

All Hail the 'Heel!
I didn't realise that I remembered so much highschool latin...
Emperor
You scored 100%! | All hail the Emperor of Rome! You reign supreme amongst all of the Romans. Anything you order is obeyed without question. The wealth of Rome is your to do with as you please, and all of the people bow when your chariot rolls by. You are both loved and feared for your power, and your name will be remembered for all of history. Someday, people will be quoting you--in your own language, of course! | |
My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender: | You scored higher than 99% on Knowledge |

Here, have a word for the day...
Nutate.
a. Nodding, Drooping.
I'd say that that's how I've felt recently, except it happens to be a botanical term and I am not a plant.
Lack of sleep and the time of year are the probable causes. Does anyone else get this way at this time of the year?
